Robert Schaper, V.M.D.


Dr. Schaper has been working with animals for over 35 years. His experiences include working in a zoo, studying bats in Mexico, and performing biopsies on whales. He has served the Branford community since 1988, and retired in August 2014. Dr. Schaper still sees occasional appointments for his closest clients. Dr. Schaper holds a B.S. in Biology from Gettysburg College, an M.A. in Theology from the University of Chicago Divinity School, an M.A. in Entomology from the University of Arizona, and a V.M.D from the University of Pennsylvania (1983). In his free time, Dr. Schaper enjoys woodworking, gardening, boating, and fishing. He lives in Guilford with his family, dog (Scout), cat (Fox), pony (Fritz), horse (Lola), donkey (Sting), and several turtles.
